TOP NEW MALE ACT
The TOP NEW MALE ACT is for the top original male act. The criteria for a "New" act is sometimes difficult to define in clear terms. If an act has been an Honoree of any JAM Award (except "18&Under" and "Under 21" categories) as a billed original artist then they cannot be nominated here (change of billed name not included). If an act has released an official album or EP and been nominated for any JAM Award (except 18&Under and Under 21) in the same year then they cannot be nominated for this JAM Award in any following year. An act can be Nominated here if they have been Nominated in previous years if they meet the aforementioned considerations. In the case of duos, if one member performs and releases material that is separate from the duo, they can be nominated here if they have met the aforementioned considerations. Original material released (CD/Online/Digital) within the eligibility period is also a major consideration.
